From seed to bloom, enjoy the satisfaction of growing your own aromatic lavender and creating a calming, fragrant retreat in your home.

In a large bowl, dissolve growing medium pellets in 5-1/4 cups of water, fluff with fork, and place into basket. Sow seeds directly onto the surface of the growing medium, gently press in, and do not cover – lavender seeds need light to germinate. Place in a warm, bright location with ample air circulation; keep growing medium moist but not overwatered. A spray bottle is recommended for watering, as strong water flow can wash away the tiny seeds. Lavender seeds will germinate in 4-6 weeks. Once seedlings develop their second set of leaves, begin watering with balanced plant fertilizer mixed at half-strength. 

No drainage? No problem. Holes can be drilled within the two circles imprinted on the bottom of the basket.

Tip: Lavender seeds germinate best in warm temperatures between 70° and 75°F.
