Primrose Flower Grow Kit | Decorative Wavy Pot

Adorable little planter. the white wavy pot looks great on my windowsill and would make a sweet gift. That said, germination took quite a bit longer than I expected, and the seedlings were slow to get going. Once I supplemented with a nitrogen rich fertilizer, things really picked up and the plants started thriving. Good gift for someone and its fairly priced. I added more NPK and soil to just fatten it up a bit.

Needs care from a green thumb
Unfortunately, I had no luck with the Primsose grow kit. After more than a month, I see no sign of growth. Since I do not have a green thumb, I can’t be sure if the product is bad or if the lack of progress is the fault of the gardener.
I’m give the kit 3 stars since I had no luck, but perhaps someone with more knowledge of flowers would have.
Withholding judgement, for now.

Cheap materials
The idea behind this grow kit is nice, but unfortunately the materials just fall short. There are essentially three items in the kit- the pot, growing media, and seeds. The pot itself is made of very cheap plastic and the black inner pot sits quite loosely inside the white outer pot. It also does not have any drainage holes, although having an inner and outer pot would give you the impression that it does. The instructions are very easy to follow- just add water to the coconut coir pellet, fluff it up, and plant the seeds. Germination rate for my seed packet was about 80%, so most of the seeds were able to sprout which is good. The seeds are honestly the only redeeming factor of this grow kit. Otherwise this would be fine for kids to experiment growing seeds for the first time, but not much else.

This kit really shines visually. The white wavy vase is elegant and modern, and the primrose flowers grow into a beautifully bright, cheerful display. It’s decorative enough to sit on a windowsill or desk even before anything sprouts.

The vase and kit are a good size for indoor spaces — not too big, not too small. It’s great for apartments, kitchens, or office desks. If you want a larger floral impact, you might eventually transplant into bigger pots, but for starting out this size is just right.

Considering you get the decorative vase plus starter seeds and growing supplies, this is solid value. It’s not the cheapest gardening starter out there, but the combination of décor and growing experience makes it worthwhile.
Overall:

As a year-round garden/yard attender, I may end up transplanting this to outside. I confess I rarely grow anything indoors. I have a few potted plants but no flowers. Primroses are fairly easy to grow and I wanted something that was known for being low-maintenance, adaptable, and great for beginners, thriving in moist, well-drained soil. Primroses fit the bill! Unlike notroisoulsy hard to grow flowers like African violets.
